...The Sacred
Circle
The saying – think
globally, act locally is a mantra we believe in.
The crises facing the
Earth and its creatures are not the sole responsibility of
environmental groups, all of us have a stake in the
future. It’s going to be increasingly important in
the coming days to educate oneself in what is happening to our
beautiful Planet.
If you don’t know about an
issue, get on the internet. If you want to get involved, find
out all you can about the campaign – the rights and wrongs –
and then present yourself to an organization in a position to do
something positive.
The days are long gone
when people can call an environmental organization and expect to be
hand fed the information and told what to do. Most
groups are completely overloaded with campaigns and need practical
financial help.
Think about helping your
local charities. Support your community’s wildlife carers,
they do a wonderful job. Find out who your local state
and federal politicians are and start writing letters, making
appointments with them, letting your representatives know how you
feel.
The natural world is under
siege. Whales, dolphins, seals, marine life and all
terrestial species are under threat from climate change and greedy
exploiters who have no regard for the next generations – human and
non-human.
AFA believes in the power
of people. We urge anyone who reads the website to bite
the bullet and get involved.
All of Creation is in
chaos. We have a sacred responsibility and there’s no time to
delay.
